Malcolm can either run into Dorian out and about in the town on 74/75 or possibly see him going into or help him out of the forest on 76/77? Otherwise, he might spot him attempting to fight fires. But he won't be pulled away until Jeff and Athena save him.

So I'm game for whatever you're feeling!
