It's finally here. The game is open! I can't believe it's actually happening.
I first conceived of this idea back in July, when my tabletop group was struggling to meet each week with conflicting schedules and the stresses of the current world we're living in. It had been quite a few months since I'd last been a game but there wasn't anything out there that
quite matched what I was looking for. So, in a moment of what can only be deemed insanity, I wondered: "What if I just made my own game?" After countless hours of reflection on my past game experiences and endless surveys of friends on their RP thoughts and preferences, The Village was born.
It's been over a decade since I last modded a game, so I beg your forgiveness for any growing pains over the next few weeks. But more than that, I
thank you for being crazy enough to take this journey with me. I am honestly speechless and a bit overwhelmed that so many of you share my love for this strange idea I had and it means the absolute world to me that you're willing to put your precious time and energy into this game. I truly hope you have a fantastic time here and that the game meets all your expectations.
I would like for this to be a collaborative experience where you all help shape the tone and pace of the game. I
welcome all of your ideas and encourage everyone to really make the experience your own. Does your character have powers that are acting strangely? Let's come up with some way to tie that into the larger plot. Would you like to dive into a particular trauma from your character's past? Reach out to me, I'd love to give you an excuse for it in one of the overview logs.
I love everyone in this bar. Now, go have a terrifyingly good time on
the opening log, and feel free to use this post for any plotting purposes!
