The unwilling residents of Mathias Township have been granted a brief reprieve from all the madness. Well, most of them have, anyway...

All wasn't quite ready for the Big Things ahead, so this is a little in-between log for everyone to catch their breath. Say hi to the new arrivals, go for a hike in the forest, or maybe throw rocks in the giant crack in the town. We'll be back to our regularly scheduled oddities soon!

Helloooooooo, good, good folks. My name is Sheena, and I bring to this lovely game one (1) (Dr.) Caitlin Snow from the DCTV universe and more specifically from The Flash. She's a genius doctor and scientist who's part of a group of friends and superheroes, originally serving in a support role but who developed powers of her own and eventually took an active part in the field. (After a brief stint as a coughvillaincough and coughhenchwomancough.) While arriving in Mathias cuts her off from her alternate personality (long story), she will still have access to her rather frosty powers. You can check out her permissions post for more info. Hello hello! I'm Chase, and I was here a hot second before, but I've returned and I can't wait to tag everyone! I'm playing Aleksander Kirigan, more widely known as The Darkling from Netflix's version of Shadow and Bone. For those canon familiar, he's taken from the end of season one where he's had his fun little tiff with Mal. If you're not canon familiar and are planning on watching shadow and bone still, just let me know and I'll be as vague as possible.

In a nutshell, The Darkling is an immortal being from a very Russian fantasy world with the ability to control shadows. He's morally grey at best and comes across as a very patient sort of person, if a little brooding, and he's not at all happy about his powers being nerfed. I'm excited to put him in a setting where he's forced to play well with others for a while!

HI I'M ROS, totally brand new here, bringing in a hippie bard from the same universe as Resident Youthful Troublemaker Athena. Jeff's a history teacher and dorky single dad, annnnd he's Athena's bard mentor and surrogate father figure, who happens to have the same face as Raylan Givens. Just think of him as a singing, guitar playing, pot smoking golden retriever with a massive anxiety streak.

Oh yeah and despite the wholesome exterior, he's got a Dark Past full of sex, drugs, rock n roll, and demonic possession. But other than that he's fine! HE'S FINE.

Plans: Bucky has a spooky encounter and is pushed off the lighthouse cliff by some shadowy figure. He'll be spending the rest of the evening and into Day 59 between some of the rock formations, unable to walk.

Basically, he'll be spending the remainder of the log healing slowly at Daisy's house.

No big plans for Daisy this log, since I'm still catching up with threads from the last log and have a bunch of mod prep for the upcoming one. Plus, she'll be pretty busy fretting over an injured Bucky while he recovers at her place.

But, if anyone would like a thread with this part-alien hacker spy who's been going through a bit of an identity crisis of late, just point me toward somewhere to tag in! She'll be taking breaks from nursing every now and then to get food at the General Store, pick up new books or movies, or just go for a run to work off some anxious energy.

(Also!! If you're a fan of the MCU, you should check out this amazing fancut Captain America and the Agenda of SHIELD: HYDRA in Plain Sight, which combines the Winter Soldier film and the relevant scenes from the end of s1 of AoS where the stories overlapped. It's an easy way to get a feel for AoS and decide if you'd like to commit to watching all 136 episodes.)

Day 59

Ellie will go looking for Claire and find her, though she can't reach her. So I need someone to stop Ellie from trying so she doesn't, you know, die! Probably someone physically stronger than her (she's small but she's pretty strong), because I anticipate a struggle before she listens to words.

this is really rough for Ellie emotionally and I haven't decided what to do about it yet! Probably cry to some cowboy dads idk

Day 60 - 61

Possibly trying to get across the chasm with Raylan.

On Day 61 she'll go build a grave for Claire in the cemetery, body or not.

Raylan will continue to be haunted by dreams of Fire, thanks Mathis, but grateful that the looping is over.

Day 59 will be for clean up and repair around his standard areas, The Gull and Phillips Drive, as well as minding the fog line, noting the reappearance of the Gap, and tidying up the interpersonal bomb that went off at 1306 on day 56.

Days 60/61 - RAYLAN GETTIN ACROSS THAT GAP GODDAMNIT, he's already built a bridge with Ellie and plans on trying to cross with her, but I'm open to anything around or outside of that.

Tim is going south!

It is available and he's going to investigate it. This will be his primary focus for these three days. He's going to be a good boy and start with the available paths, but once he has all of them covered he will start to stray off the paths.

He will be practicing with his sling-shot and maybe be found trying to work out a way to make his available ammo flammable. We'll see how often he burns his hand with this idea.

Basically I am open to anyone who would like to investigate the southern area of town but also just random encounters in and around town as well!

Well first thing's first, Callisto is going to be really surprised when the time-looping stops, because so far she's just been assuming that that's standard operating procedure for this place. OOPS. She'll wonder how many other people assumed the same, and think it's hilarious that the people who burned down the history museum probably did so thinking it would come back.

Other than that, she'll likely take advantage of the retreating fog to explore the southern woods more thoroughly, and she'll be very interested in the chasm in the north - she'll assume that it's an opening to the Underworld. Chances of her attempting to enter it are faaaaaairly low but not totally off the table. Chances of her leaning over it and screaming abuses at Hades in Greek are very high.

HELLO THERE Carter mostly sat out the time loop because work kicked my ass... but I'm back now and seemingly just in time to chill before the next Big Bang. Would love to hang out with you lovely people!

Some great news: His pager works in Mathias because he is absolutely 90s compatible so he'll post a notice on the bulletin board! You can now page the good doctor old school style if you did some stupid things again and got yourself mauled because of some reckless dumbassery in need of medical attention.

Other than that, he actually doesn't take downtime well so he'll be feeling restless and try to explore or gather supplies for the clinic he built with Helen Magnus and that he's still staffing.

The Darkling | Shadow and Bone

As a new arrival, The Darkling is mainly going to be trying to figure out where the fuck he is, exactly, and come to terms with that. I have no solid plans other than 'generally explore' and 'maybe try to make kvass because everyone needs more beer and this village is lacking.'

He is going to be looking for someone to sew his coat! His kefta is very important to him and it's very tattered at his canon point. I'm thinking the bulletin board is probably a good use for that?

Otherwise, I'm going to have him do some exploring, etc. Especially interested in someone observing him test to see if his shadow manipulation still works/trying out what he can do in the limited setting!

As a new arrival, Cait's going to spend these few days trying to get her bearings. She'll also be dealing with the fact that she's cut off from her other personality, Killer Frost, and with how quiet it is in her head.

DAY 59 she's going to wake up on the beach and make her way to the Grey Gull. I'm open to a single thread there with 1 or 2 responders. She wants coffee and to be warm and answers. Later in the day, she's going to find her way into Malcolm and Klaus's group therapy session at the Schoolhouse.

The rest of that day, and DAYS 60 & 61, will be spent exploring the other buildings in town and figuring out where she's going to stay for the time being. So... I'm open to anything! Hit me up if you want something specific here or plurk or discord.

Tony's going to be spending some of this log doing some scavenging around town if you'd be down for him running into her at some point during her exploring!

for the most part, elijah's just going to be around. he's been here awhile now and it's starting to wear on him so he'll probably hit the grey gull to have a few drinks.

but otherwise, he'll do a lot of walking around. he's gotten to the point where he's resigned but frustrated so he might be a little snappier than usual. he's been keeping a low-ish profile as of late but he's still around.

he knew claire so i think he's going to see her body. he won't outwardly react but it's definitely going to be something that he remembers.

My plans are:

have Elena explore the chasm. I'd love to have her do this with a few people! I also want her to spot Claire's body there and have a very fail attempt at trying to help her since it's so deep and she's only human (and not Indiana Jones). I'd love for her to realise that maybe she can't help and save everyone and have a good conversation with someone about it.

gonna have her get drunk bc why not.

she's going to go into the fog and come out panicked and paranoid af bc it's been a while since she's done that.

I still want her to explore some things like houses and other locations. Elena's someone who loves being nosy and I'd like for her to sink her teeth into being nosy again now that I seem to have a bit of my shit together!

Since Jeff's brand new AND LUCKILY ARRIVING DURING A RELATIVELY CALM PERIOD, I'm gonna play fast and loose with plotting here and just see where days 59-61 take him. Jeff will be arriving barefoot and carrying his favorite guitar around, so his first priorities will be SHOES and FINDING A SAFE PLACE TO STORE HIS PRECIOUS BABY.

Plus a healthy dose of panic.

Anyway! Beyond that he'll be exploring, trying to learn whatever he can, trying to figure out what's up with his magic, and of course he'll want to make friends and find a minimally spooky place to live. And he'll probably stumble into the therapy group at the schoolhouse, since idk he's a teacher, he'd check out the school in a fit of professional curiosity.

tony is going to be spending some of this log going out and scavenging around town, looking for bits and pieces of whatever is even vaguely tech orientated for any future projects he will probably have (since he probably can't send someone out to do his dirty work for him this time, unfortunately!).

on day 59, tony's going investigate the new flag flying in town and happen upon klaus and malcolm's group therapy session.

and he's going to be meeting with ainsley at some point so she can start making demands of him give him her first build request.

Parker's still relatively new. This is her first chance to explore Mathias sans time loop, and she hasn't directly experienced a lot of other trauma yet, so she'll mainly just be poking around and seeing what there is to see, without necessarily giving a lot of consideration to her own safety and/or sanity! She also just claimed a house along with Hardison and Eliot.

Plotting ideas include:

- running into Parker exploring and joining her
- running into Parker exploring and stopping her before she goes somewhere she's Not Supposed To Go
- movie nights at the house!
- randomly meeting people around town?? She WILL poke her nose into her business and/or steal your stuff. Let me know if you want her to meet your character and we'll make it happen!
